Autumn Leaves (Momiji), Japan
Click on any photograph to view all images full size.
Japan is one of the most stunning settings imaginable for the turning leaves of Autumn, called Momiji in Japanese.
The fast changing climate is responsible for the dramatic turning of the leaves into an orgy of reds, yellows, oranges, and golds.
Momiji actually refers to Japanese maple trees and famous momiji spots can be found nation-wide as the turn of the season progresses South to North. Our favourite location remains the Kyoto temples such as Kiyomizu-dera and Eikando which have spectacular maple gardens.
